The Battle of Britain series
Al Murray and James holland run a youtube channel called WW2 Headquarters. I was tasked with editing the Battle of Britain series – twelve 30 minute episodes. For the first time, they wanted the incorporation of archive imagery and had adopted a two camera shoot – no small feat in the time available.
The full series can be found here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlRinb0s2Zg&list=PL6c7sY9zou5XB7l6BFx2LXMAj01LFnZdU
This success of this series was followed by a Normandy series that has yet to be released.
BEHIND THE SCENES OF A MAGAZINE EDITION
The Road Rat is a collectable magazine for automotive connoisseurs that captures the design, context and stories around cars and their culture.
For their 22nd edition, I was asked to edit a behind-the-scenes film that showcases the work and creativity that goes into the magazine as well as the featured content of their 22nd edition about the 90s renaissance. This was augmented with three social videos.
Sizzle edit for My Hole and Corner
My hole and Corner is a thought-provoking documentary series that holds a relaxed pace and looks at artists and the environments that inform them. This sizzle edit was needed to showcase the project to interested parties.
Documentary about sculptor Joel Parkes
I made this film in collaboration with photographer, David Ryle. Not wanting to follow the well-trodden formula for artist films, we focused instead on a poetic narrative that gets to the nebula of what Joel is all about.
The narrative discusses the blending of time, place, forces and nature that led me to take a less conventional editing approach – treating the narrative like poetic prose and mixing day and night and process – in a manner you wouldn’t ordinarily.

Featuring Joel Parkes
For his own purposes, Joel needed a shorter version that also showed his process in a linear fashion and so I created an alternate ‘corporate’ edit alongside a short ‘Excerpt’ film for showcasing.

Excerpt for showcasing
Photographing a garden office for the interior designer
Sara Mellone is a designer who wanted imagery for a recent home office studio project. The challenge was to create a sunny airy feeling on a dull grey day whilst working in a very small space.
Detailing bespoke furniture
Photographing a homewares shop for the interior designer – featuring bespoke units that connect without fixings. Working in a small space with mixed lighting.
A short documentary capturing the space of an artist
Hole & Corner celebrate creativity and craftmanship. I was asked to shoot and later edit this film for their editorial. It features Nik Ramage, a mechanical sculpture who makes machines that capture the imagination but have no obviously useful purpose. The story was a focus on the space he inhabits where his artistic expression comes to life.
